Located in converted historic townhouses amid the winding streets of Copenhagen’s lively Latin Quarter, Hotel SP34 opened in early 2014 as an homage to the neighborhood and to mid-century Danish design. Each room is outfitted in clean-lined furnishings and muted tones, all meant to evoke Sankt Peders Stræde, the historic street on which the hotel sits, and give guests the feeling of living in their own Danish home, in a true Danish neighborhood. In the lobby—home to a stylish bar and lounge that serves coffee, beer (including the hotel’s own Brøchner Organic Lager), and wine throughout the day—the first thing guests see is a bicycle, a tribute both to Copenhageners’ favorite mode of transportation and to the renowned Sögreni bike shop down the street. The hotel contributes to the neighborhood’s vibrant nightlife scene with two restaurants and four bars, as well as the longtime favorite Din Nye Van café and music venue; being at the heart of it all only adds to that Copenhagen-local experience.

Copenhagen's Coolest New Design Hotel
Opened in 2014 in the centrally located Latin Quarter of Copenhagen, the SP34 Hotel has 118 rooms and 3 restaurants, including the one pictured here, VÄKST. The hotel’s rooms are modern and spare, and the common areas evoke a perfect Danish design sensibility. Breakfast at VÄKST puts most other hotel buffets to shame, with its selection of fresh juices, homemade brown bread and jams, and eggs and cheeses. The hotel hosts events that immerse guests in Copenhagen experiences, and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable about under-the-radar restaurants, bars, and happenings around town.
Modern Design, Excellent Location
Renovated in 2013/2014 this hotel has a new look, new name, and clean modern vibe and feel. Yet, it also retains the same location which made its predecessor (The Hotel Fox) a popular option within the city center. Situated a few minutes stroll from both Radhusplasn and Norreport station, this hotel is a stone’s throw from one of Copenhagen‘s most beautiful parks and serves as home to the latest Cocks and Cow’s restaurant location. If you’re looking for a central hotel to stay in, but don’t want to be stranded in the ugly mess west of the central train station, this hotel is an excellent option.
