The market in Dubrovnik
The morning market in Old Town Dubrovnik is dominated by the statue of poet Ivan Gundulić, surrounded by the red and white umbrellas. The market operates six days a week at 7 am, selling all kinds of fruits and vegetables, souvenirs, liqueurs, flowers and cheese. It's a great place to see real people of the city.

Gundulić Square Market
This lovely open-air market in the Old Town is full of color and sells a bounty of fresh locally grown fruits and vegetables. It’s also the place to taste sugar-coated orange and lemon peels (arancini and lemoncini), sugar-coated almonds (brostulani mjenduli) and dried figs. Check out the stalls of souvenirs made by local artisans, ranging from olive wood sculptures of fish to renditions of original historic maps. Get here early—the market is only open till 1 p.m.
