Imagine what the landscape looked like here in prehistoric times at Céide Fields in north County Mayo — home to the oldest known field systems in the word. This Neolithic landscape has the remains of stone walls, houses and megalithic tombs, all set in a wild blanket bog which stretches over several square miles. There are also dramatic cliffs and views out over the Atlantic Ocean. The visitors centre has a great exhibition and audio/visual show and there are guided walks on site.
