A river fit for running, eating, drinking and boat rides
There are many cities in the world with rivers running through them, but few take advantage of their waterways like San Antonio. San Antonio's River Walk is one of the most popular travel destinations in Texas and an absolute must-see when visiting this city. Along the San Antonio River, you'll find quiet stretches perfect for jogging and livelier stretches lined with colorful bars and restaurants. There also are boat tours offering insights into the city's architecture and history and dining boats for special nights out. You may come to San Antonio for the Alamo, but you should stay for the River Walk.

The development and expansion of a northern stretch of the River Walk, known as the Museum Reach and which opened in 2009, offers river access to the San Antonio Museum of Art. Also on the river’s bank is the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, opened in fall 2014, and the upcoming Hotel Emma, part of the Pearl culinary and entertainment complex, located in a re-imagined brewhouse.
