San Antonio River Walk
While many cities have rivers, few take advantage of their waterways quite like San Antonio does. One of the city’s most popular tourist attractions, the River Walk runs along the San Antonio River and features both quiet stretches for jogging and livelier areas lined with colorful bars and restaurants. For an immersive experience, take a boat tour and learn more about San Antonio’s history and architecture.

Lined by huge cypress trees, this section of the river is pristine. This is the perfect area to have a riverfront drink! Get a coffee to-go at Cafecito or sit down on the patio outside Zocca. The Rivewalk is also perfectly situated in the heart of downtown San Antonio so you can have a moment of relaxation in nature between activities and sights.

The development and expansion of a northern stretch of the River Walk, known as the Museum Reach and which opened in 2009, offers river access to the San Antonio Museum of Art. Also on the river’s bank is the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, opened in fall 2014, and the upcoming Hotel Emma, part of the Pearl culinary and entertainment complex, located in a re-imagined brewhouse.
