Pizzeria Antico’s Italian decor couldn’t be more bella, from the distressed chairs to the white marble bar to the vintage road bicycle perched above the open cucina. Flatbread aficionados will find familiar fare such as the Margherita, funghi, and quattro formaggi along with house-made pastas like gnocchi di Antico. The gnocchi, made with Pemberton potatoes grown nearby and dressed simply in a garlicky tomato sauce, are absolutely sublime.
Crisp Neapolitan-style pizzas are the order of the day at Pizza Antico thanks to a wood-fired oven that takes center stage in the open kitchen. I’m all about the basics when it comes to pizza, and the Margharita Classica fits the bill with fior di latte mozzarella and bright cherry tomatoes. But if you’re a fan of piled-high toppings, there are options for that, too. The menu also features fresh pastas, great desserts, and lots of local craft brews.
