The San Antonio B-cycle program is one of the first large-scale municipal bike sharing systems in the U.S. There are 35 bike stations downtown, making two wheels a great way to explore a lot of the key historic sites and the many quality restaurant and shopping districts.
The program is easy to use because the bike stations accept credit cards and rental times are flexible. You can rent the bike for 24 hours for $10 or pay by the half-hour. Downtown is well-marked with maps so you always know your current location and have directions for getting to attractions around the city.
Be sure to take a ride on the River Walk. The Blue Star Art Complex sits at the start of a seven-mile loop along the river that is popular with both runners and cyclists.
