This small—but always packed—dining room is where to go for a delicious introduction to the fresh seafood that’s so abundant along the coast. Specials are chalked on a blackboard, while the likes of Mourne mussels, fish cakes, and langoustines are featured on the daily menu. The main dining room and adjacent Oyster Bar share a menu.
This seafood emporium is buzzing with atmosphere most nights of the week – wooden tables and exposed brick walls add to the charm. Shellfish comes from the restaurant’s own beds and sizzling menu starters include oysters Japanese style with pickled ginger and soy, langoustines and pan-fried crab claws with chili butter. Seafood is often given a continental or Asian twist however traditional fish and chips and seafood casserole are house favorites and there’s a selection of steak and poultry, plus a full bar with a good choice of beers and wines.
