Make the most of your time in Scottsdale by rising early for a sunrise hike through Scottsdale’s McDowell Sonoran Preserve
. This 30,000-acre park located right in Scottsdale has more than 215 miles of trails that cross the desert landscape. Choose from seven major trailheads, as you explore its canyons and peaks—and remember to bring plenty of water, even if you have only a short hike in mind.
After your hike, drive into town for lunch at Flower Child
, which serves delicious bowls and wraps, while the drinks menu includes flavored lemonades and kombucha as well as wine and beer—all organic of course!
Back at the Sanctuary, stretch from your hike with some laps in the 25-yard pool or grab a partner to play a few games on the resort’s tennis courts. The resort also has biking maps of nearby routes if you want to explore the area on two wheels.
Later in the day, head into Old Town for some window-shopping and dinner at The Herb Box
. The flavorful salads, grilled fish, and unusual shared dishes (like Korean fried cauliflower), means that you won’t feel like you are making any sacrifices by eating well.
