Sheikh Zayed Road
Dubai's thoroughfare, Sheikh Zayed Road is often seen in Facebook cover photos or through car windows in all its silvery steel glamor. Yet, very few people get to experience the highway and its many offerings on the ground. It boasts dozens of restaurants and cafes where you can enjoy a glitzy meal with friends to the visual soundtrack of cars and trucks whizzing up and down the highway. Visit during sunset for a nice breeze and even nicer views. Pro tip: Use the metro stations to effortlessly zip from one side of the highway to the other. For art lovers, head to DIFC and check out some of their free art nights. Or head up to Level 43 Sky Lounge at the Sheraton, where you’ll be flanked by identical towers piercing Dubai’s sky.
