All the trappings one would expect from a Hyatt—sleek design, attentive service, and plenty of amenities—are in a prime location in Rosebank: Johannesburg’s Hyatt Regency checks all the requisite boxes for a work trip. When there is time for play—or when done browsing the hotel’s 27 shops and relaxing in the Amani spa—guests can walk next door to the Firs Shopping Centre for more window-shopping or bowling or a movie at the Zone complex. A convenient location close to the Gautrain station makes for easy access from the airport, and the spacious rooms and top-notch breakfasts make lengthy stays a treat.

Neighborhood Vibe
The Hyatt Regency isn’t far from the Rosebank Mall, one of Johannesburg’s most popular shopping centers. The hotel is also steps from the Zone @ Rosebank, a lively entertainment hub. Much of Johannesburg’s action is centered around mall culture, but guests who prefer to spend their time in a pedestrian-friendly district should head to the neighboring suburb of Parkhurst, where 4th Avenue is a lively, walkable street lined with hip boutiques and cafés (the tiny, rose-tinted 4th Avenue Coffeeworks is a neighborhood institution).

Insider Tips
Who it's best for: Business travelers visiting with family, as the location is great for both work and play, and the hotel has plenty to do on-site to keep entertained.
Our favorite rooms: Rooms facing Oxford Road can get quite loud—it’s better to book a higher-floor room facing the garden. Regency Club Floor rooms are worth the extra cash for the private lounge and butler service.
Good to know: The Killarney Country Club is five minutes away, and staff can arrange for guests to enjoy squash, tennis, lawn bowling, or the 18-hole golf course.
