The Street: A Michael Mina Social House
Upscale food halls are having their day and here celebrity chef Michael Mina weighs in with 12 stations, featuring flavors from around the globe. The Street serves up everything from sustainable poke to Tokyo-style ramen, Maui onion burgers, and Mediterranean cuisine drawn from the James Beard-winner and Michelin-starred chef's Egyptian heritage. Of special note is Aloha Ice, a sweet stop by Honolulu's own pastry queen Michelle Karr-Ueoka. The hall sprawls inside Waikiki’s International Market Place, bridging glitzy Kalakaua Avenue and up-and-coming Kuhio Avenue. Lift a drink to toast its success—and skipping longer wait times at other trendy eateries—whether that's tap kombucha from Indie Girl or a Myna Bird bar cocktail inspired by Don the Beachcomber, the joint (and its owner) that kicked off the 1960s tiki craze.
