Saigon Sandwich

Best $3.50 Banh Mi in San Francisco
I crave this caramel-y roasted pork Banh Mi at Saigon Sandwich. The classic Vietnamese sandwich is on a fresh French baguette that is perfectly soft yet crispy, accompanied by fresh carrots, cucumbers, cilantro, and peppers, plus the most delectable sweet mystery dressing. It's got to be the best $3.50 meal in San Francisco.

Bánh Mì Thịt at Saigon Sandwich Shop
Chef Anamika Khanna of Kasa Indian Eatery says: "The bread, meat, cilantro, carrots, and jalapeños—it's utterly delicious! I love their grilled pork bánh mì, which is a favorite at Saigon Sandwich."

Yummy Banh Mi Sandwiches
After visiting the Asian Art Museum I hike two blocks up Larkin for a big, yummy banh mi sandwich. Cheap ($4), large and delicious. I like the pork sandwich but all are tasty. Also Vietnamese desserts. Takeout only. Ask them to hold the peppers if you want to feel your tongue.

Banh Mi sandwich in Little Saigon
In 2004 part of the Tenderloin was designated as Little Saigon. Its entrance is marked by two dragons atop pylons on Larkin St at Eddy, and then expands to O’Farrell on the north and a block east and west. The area is best known for its Vietnamese cuisine. Saigon Sandwich is a staple for inexpensive Banh Mi.
