Starting in old town Dali, a resident guide took us to a Yi village where the people and places we encountered were surprising and wonderful. From the long sheets of drying shrimp along the roadside to the beautiful faces of Bai babies strapped to the backs of their mothers at the market -- It was a day worthy of sustaining anyone’s travel longings.

Cycling Around Erhai Lake
Grab a bike and get on the road! You can head out to Erhai Lake from Dali old town or from Xizhou. There is now a tarmacked road that winds round parts of the lake which is really easy to ride on and is perfect for a day trip.
