Mixing Museums and Kids
Any traveler with kids understands that museums can fatigue children. The Witte Museum in San Antonio cleverly merges adult-friendly collections of fine art with a hands-on science collection for kids. As if that weren't enough to keep children interested, the science "wing" is in a treehouse. The H-E-B Science Treehouse comprises four floors of interactive science exhibits, so kids can learn about air power, energy, and ecology without becoming too (museum) fatigued—and adults can admire the view over the San Antonio river. The Witte Museum, established in 1926 under the charter of the San Antonio Museum Association, is located adjacent to Brackenridge Park, making it a convenient addition to a day or weekend trip to San Antonio.
