The Qatar Museum Authority Gallery, QMA, is nestled among other traditional-looking buildings in the Katara Cultural Village. The venue is known for hosting local and international artists whose work revolve around human themes. It holds exhibitions of different artistic media but their recurring theme is always one that connects with visitors on a personal level. They are known for holding installations portraying the anguish behind female icons and photographic explorations of female Arab athletes. The space is not high-brow, quite the opposite, it is casual and friendly, but designed for individual contemplation. The gallery also serves as a pilot platform for small local museums to present their collections.
