Minus 5
As far as bars go, Minus 5 is without question the coolest place in Las Vegas. The place sits in a giant freezer, and everything inside is made of ice—the walls, the chandeliers, the seats, the bar itself, even the very glasses in which you receive your drink. When you pay the $39 cover (it’s spendy, but it includes two specialty cocktails), you are issued a warm parka or faux-fur coat for the duration of your stay. Inside, music and lights create a surreal setting that pairs perfectly with the rest of the frozen goodies. It’s a night out you won't forget soon. There are two locations—one at Mandalay Bay and a newer, smaller one inside Monte Carlo—with the same pricing and chilly experience.

An Icy Cocktail
A visit to Minus5 Ice Bar isn't as much about the drinks as it is about the experience. Billed as "the coolest experience," Minus5 lets drinkers bundle up in a parka and gloves before sitting down at an ice bar on ice seats surrounded by a bar made entirely out of ice. While you enjoy your drink, an LED light show and music provide entertainment.

At Minus5, you'll be able to choose from a variety of packages to help create the most memorable experience. You can't take your own pictures in the bar, but professional photographers are on hand to capture the moment.

There are two Minus5 locations in Las Vegas. One is in Mandalay Place, between Mandalay Bay and Luxor, and the other is in Monte Carlo.

Cool Down at the Minus 5 Ice Bar
Putting on a large fur coat on a sunny 85 degree day may sound to some like a terrible idea, but when you're about to enter Minus 5 Ice Bar... It's a lifesaver. The ice bar is like a blast of extreme air conditioning compared to the balmy temperatures just outside the freezer door.

The interior is chiseled to perfection in true caribbean style, complete with a life-size ice-pirate, ice booths and benches, as well as nautical sculptures complete with seashells. Order bright neon green and blue drinks from ice glasses and let the rim form to your lips.

While this bar is a great option when wanting a change from the local bar scene, it is not one most guests stay in for long as most are typically wearing inadequate footwear... ahh yes, it's true... unfortunately those flip flops from the beach aren't always the best ice bar shoes. But for the record it is an incredible way to cool down on a blistering hot summer day.
