Devil’s Lake State Park

Beautiful state park with tons for everyone! Several hiking trails with a variety of ability levels, clean beach for swimming, boat rentals, fishing, etc. The campsites were well-kept and the showers were clean. The hiking was good, but the trails weren’t always clearly marked. That aside, great place to visit and a quick day-trip from Madison, WI. Description from website: Founded in 1911, Devil’s Lake is the third oldest state park in Wisconsin, the largest, and the most visited. Devil’s Lake offers magnificent views from 500-foot quartzite bluffs overlooking a 360-acre lake. Camping at Devil's Lake

Devil’s Lake is a quick drive from Madison, WI and is a nice place to camp for a night. Make sure to make reservations during the summer, though because the campground fills up fast.
