Common Ground Container Mall
Seoul is a city built on innovation and that loves to shop. Combine the two and you get Common Ground, the world’s largest container shopping mall. The unique complex is composed of 200 stacked, blue prefabbed containers. Developed by design firm, Urbantainer, the project aimed to revitalize unused land in the neighborhood of Gwangjin. The industrial space is meant to connect the community with creativity. Shoppers will find independent boutiques in the Street Market and Market Hall areas and foodies can feast at the food trucks in the courtyard or terrace restaurants. Keep a lookout for a never-ending lineup of exciting events: performances by emerging musicians, DJ nights, or pop culture exhibits sponsored by Toy Republic.
