Cat Sposato is a New York City-based travel writer and editorial assistant who covers art, culture, news, trends, and commerce for Afar. She previously worked as the associate producer at WNYC’s The Takeaway and has bylines in NPR, V Magazine, and LatinaMediaCo.
An avid fan of movies, television, music, and books, Cat uses her intimate knowledge of the cultural conversation to inform her reporting, and is keenly interested in the ways culture inspires travelers to action. Originally from New Jersey with familial roots in Pereira, Colombia, she draws from bicultural upbringing to tell holistic stories about marginalized communities across the globe.
Before Afar, Cat reported for two national daily radio shows. She brings a refined understanding of the ways culture and global affairs impact travel trends to her work. When she’s not writing, Cat spends her time visiting new museum openings, watching live theater and concerts, reading classic literature, and eating her way through New York City.
