Butcher & Bee
It's quite easy to have bacon every meal of the day in the South. It shows up in everything from the bloody marys to the brussels sprouts. After four days in Charleston I needed a time out from meat. Luckily, the crew at the new sandwich shop Butcher & Bee do ingenious things with vegetables. Take for example this vegetarian riff on the pulled pork sandwich. The pork gets replaced with BBQ pulled squash and is topped with smoked slaw and piled onto a perfect hoagie roll.
