Where luxury reigns, and Royal Tea is served
It may seem superfluous to list the reasons why a traveler might consider a stay at the Four Seasons, the epitome of 5-star luxury, but for those unfamiliar with Philadelphia, let’s make a list. Reason one: the unrivaled location on Logan Circle (a/k/a Logan Square) directly across from the gorgeous Swann Fountain. The hotel is 3 blocks from two world-renowned science museums, and a short walk along the Ben Franklin Parkway to the new Barnes Foundation galleries and the Phila. Museum of Art. Walk a few blocks to the south for prime shopping in Liberty Place and high end boutiques on Walnut Street. Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell are a bit further away, about 2 miles east. Reason two: the hotel’s Fountain Restaurant, serving American and French cuisine, is consistently rated as one of the best restaurants in Philly. Reason three: the Swann Lounge and Café is a cozy spot for breakfast, Sunday brunch, afternoon tea, or evening cocktails. Resident mixologist Michael Haggerty creates sublime locally-themed drinks such as the Society Hill, and the Brewery Town (named after Philly neighborhoods). Locals are known to visit the Swann Lounge to indulge in Royal Tea (pictured), served Monday to Saturday from 3 to 4:30 p.m. The raspberry cocktail is a wonderful complement to the scones and cucumber sandwiches. Most travelers who stay here are pleasantly surprised by the hotel rates. Remember, this is Philly (that affordable smaller city), not New York. Enjoy your visit!
