Rice Porridge at Migabon
A bowl of warm juk, Korean rice porridge, is a gratifying to start the day. Commonly combined with vegetables, legumes, or meat, this dish is believed to contain healing and nourishing properties. Though mostly consumed at breakfast, juk can be enjoyed any time of the day. There are many specialty porridge shops in Seoul, but Migabon is a considered a classic standby. Located in the heart of Myeongdong, this unfussy restaurant offers over 20 versions of it. Its signature dishes are the silky abalone porridge and flavorful ginseng chicken soup. Pumpkin or red bean will appeal to those who prefer porridges on the slightly sweeter side. All orders come with complimentary, refillable banchan side dishes and tea.
