Blue Hole Regional Park

About an hour southwest of Austin is the Village of Wimberley. I would have called it a town, but the three-thousand or so residents that live there prefer that it be called a “village”. It is a quaint little town surrounded by nature and is probably best known for its rivers and streams which create an abundance of swimming holes. The south Texas summers can be brutally hot, so its important to be close to water if you have plans to be outdoors in the late summer. Wimberley, Texas has a plethora of swimming holes, but one of the most accessible spots to cool off is the famous “Blue Hole”. It is absolutely picturesque and surrounded by huge cypress trees. The water has an inviting tint of green and always cool on a hot summer day.
