Have you ever had a drink while standing at the top of a 1,700-foot vertical drop, as the sun sets across the coastline and mountains ahead? That’s the view at Lovers’ Leap, one of Jamaica’s most stunning scenic stops, under a half-hour drive from Treasure Beach. There’s a small entrance fee (less than US$5) and an indoor bar you’ll walk through to reach the balcony and jaw dropping horizon and sea views. Of course, there’s a legend to go with this moving sight. It says that two enslaved lovers jumped together from this spot to their deaths, to escape from their colonial master who wanted the girl for himself. You’ll see the wood carving of these two lovebirds just outside the entrance. I dare say this is the most gorgeous view in all of Jamaica.
