Canadian Tulip Festival
There’s a festival each year in Canada that brings out about a 500,000 each year and it just keeps getting bigger. The Canadian Tulip Festival in Ottawa has been enchanting flower fans with a million tulips annually for sixty five years. The celebration due to a historic royal gift from the Dutch to Canada as a symbol of friendship.

When I was in Ottawa I got to go on a tour of the Commission Park Tulips. There were over 250,000 tulips planted in the park that included the Canada 150 Tulip. There were 60 different varieties of tulips in the flower beds. Some of the species reminded me of other flowers and didn’t look like typical tulips. As for the Canada 150, it was the official tulip selected to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday. The red and white flower is also known as the “Maple Leaf Tulip”.
