Featuring over 200 works, the Arte de Portas Abertas (or “Art of Open Doors”) project is a street-art initiative aimed at revitalizing sections of Old Town damaged by the 2010 tropical storm. The doors of Rua Santa Maria and those of other nearby streets have been painted and decorated by Portuguese and international artists, transforming the area into a permanent outdoor art gallery.
