New River Safari
Hop on a boat ride down the New River–Belize’s largest body of water at over 25 miles long–running through the heart of the northern province of Orange Walk. This is one of Belize's most untouched and green landscapes. You can observe the wilderness from the comfort of a speedboat. You'll glide along the mangrove-lined water, home to Morelet crocodiles, river turtles, and numerous bird species–including the “Jesus Christ” bird floating on water–while howler monkeys roar from treetops and echo along the river. The boat ride ends at Lamanai Archeological Site, for more hiking and wildlife spotting on shore.
