Ichiro Japanese Restaurant

4344 Convoy St Q, San Diego, CA 92111, USA

You can find sushi at Ichiro’s, but this is not a sushi restaurant. They carry many traditional Japanese dishes. One of my favorites is the Tenzaru Soba (cold buckwheat noodles) pictured above. Really good after a hike on a hot day. For dessert, you may like the sesame ice cream- absolutely divine! The only thing I’ve had here that I don’t like is the mountain yam, very slimy and no taste. My mother in law loves it though, and I was so happy she traded plates with me when I mistakenly thought I would like it. The ambiance is ‘hole in the wall’ Japanese style, but the food is comfortable and a great price. If you’re on a budget or just happen to like Japanese food, Ichiro’s is worth a stop.
