If you are one of those that when travelling prefers to stay on a site that welcomes you as if you are at home, The White Box House may well be your next choice for a future stay at Porto. This guesthouse is chic and affordable, with a mix of standard rooms and hostel style. As it has only 6 rooms it creates a cosmopolitan atmosphere, cozy and relaxed, allowing a contact with the local culture in a more close and intimate way.
It's housed in a building from the early twentieth century, carefully restored preserving the original features and simultaneously adapted to today's standards of comfort. In The White Box House we can feel a high aesthetic sense, with hardwood floors, granite walls, tiles coverings, minimalist design decor with vintage furniture, which features the comfortable leather sofas and selected works of art.

Feels Like Home
This place is amazing! The second my friend and I walked into The White Box House, we were greeting with a friendly smile and recommendations that would keep us busy for days. One of the owners, Alex, is usually around and has plenty of stories to tell and a list of great "secret"places that visitors should check out. The house is decorated in a sleek, modern mid-century style that is hip but yet warm and cozy. The House is centrally located downtown, and very close to the metro station. There are plenty of great bars, shopping and restaurants nearby too.
Every morning we were spoiled with a breakfast for champions; fresh bread, a variety of jams, coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, and baked goods. A true delight. After spending time with the team that works there, we soon began to call them our friends. I definitely want to go back to Porto soon, partially to hang out with my new friends.
