Specialty Shopping around Sunset Junction
Housing specialty cheese, flower, and coffee shops, the burnt red stucco complex that sits under the vintage “Sunset Junction” sign is the central watering hole for Silver Lake’s creative clientele. From this bustling hub, caffeinated shoppers should open every door along Sunset Blvd. to uncover a variety boutique gems and oddities. Keep an open mind and surprise yourself with what catches your eye. Maybe it’s a ceramic vegetable fermentation jar at the craft shop Reform School? Designer leather platform shoes at Mohawk General Store? Black Truffle Salt at Spice Station? Or an autographed copy of Scott Pilgrim creator’s new Snotgirl comic book from Secret Headquarters? Much like the alternative artsy neighborhood these stores are in, the more unique and true to yourself, the better. No judgement (except if you buy the wrong record at Vacation Vinyl. JK, not really.)
