You don’t have to cross the border to sample some of the best street foods that Mexico has to offer. Just head over to chef Johnny Hernandez’s La Gloria Ice House. La Gloria, one of several San Antonio restaurants from the former Top Chef judge, specializes in such dishes as tacos al pastor inspired by the flavors of Mexico City and tlayudas that channel Oaxaca. It also serves up a selection of sopes, tortas, ceviches, and tacos. And if you’ve already had your fill of margaritas while in South Texas, don’t worry. La Gloria has a variety of other specialty cocktails, many available in skinny versions as well.
