Restaurant 1877
Tucked inside the brick, wood and brass of the old market hall in the historical centre of Bergen, 1877 is the city’s must-do restaurant. Every six weeks the popular set menu - featuring shellfish, fish, meat, cheese, and dessert courses - changes based on the availability of local ingredients. Autumn brings apples, pears and plums alongside the latest spoils of the hunting season, while winter serves up seafood from the ice-cold waters. Potatoes and other root vegetables are popular sides throughout the year. Book well in advance to enjoy simple Norwegian ingredients brought to life in a nostalgic setting.
