Lautoka is one of Fiji’s major cross-cultural towns, a place where religions bump into each other and stretch out to intertwine. In addition to a lot of Christian churches and some lovely Hindu temples, you’ll find the Lautoka Jame Mosque, which looks like it could have been imported straight from the Middle East. The mosque has two floors of arched doors and windows, dazzling white-marble construction and, five times a day, the haunting call to prayer echoing from the minaret.
