When in Tokyo on a Sunday, head to the weekly farmers market in Shibuya. Visiting markets is one of my favorite ways to learn about a new culture--seeing the different kinds of fruits, vegetables, plants, pickles, spices and more that are a part of locals' everyday lives. They also sell handicrafts and clothing, as well as takeaway food and drinks such as coffee and noodles. Taste the free samples in the morning as an appetizer for your inevitably amazing lunch in Tokyo, or shop for souvenirs you might not find elsewhere in the city. You can't go wrong. It's accessible via subway on the Chiyoda line, and located on the plaza of the near the United Nations building in the neighborhood.
