Parque das Esculturas

Recife - State of Pernambuco, 50740-970, Brazil

Open until dusk, the Parque das Esculturas, or sculpture garden, sits on a breakwater out by Recife’s reef belt, across from the Marco Zero plaza. Some 90 works of trippy-looking turtles, pelicans and more by sculptor Francisco Brennand make up the project, which was inaugurated in 2000 in celebration of the sesquicentennial of Brazil’s “discovery.” Green on top, the 32-meter-tall (105-foot) silver and bronze Torre de Cristal, or crystal tower, is shaped a bit like an asparagus stalk.
