Geiger Scenic Overlook
A view of the Sierras and historic Geiger trail
On the way from Tahoe to Virginia City, you travel up a highway that loosely follows the old Geiger Grade, a road constructed in 1862 to bring silver down from the massive Comstock lode under Virginia City. This scenic overlook offers incredible views of the Sierras in the distance, and the valley below, where you can see Carson City.
