Housed in one of the oldest palaces in Jaipur, this boutique hotel—owned by Jaipur’s royal family—is one of the most romantic places to stay in the Pink City. The rooms here are made for Instagram, with colorful wallpaper, beautifully upholstered furniture (including four-poster beds in suites), and stunning crystal chandeliers. The common areas and restaurants are equally stunning, from the Colonnade (a 24-hour terrace restaurant with turquoise-accented interiors) to the more formal Orient Occident (a fine-dining space dominated by chandeliers and regal oil paintings). If you’re lucky, you may even spot royalty while you’re visiting—the palace has long been a favorite of visiting dignitaries, from Jackie O to Queen Elizabeth II.

Suján Rajmahal Palace
You’ll live like a royal at this hotel built in 1729 by the Maharaja of Jaipur. In February, it reopened with contemporary style. There are still 18th- century paintings, Persian carpets, and a bedroom set used by Queen Elizabeth II during her stay, but most striking are the bold wallpapers in the common areas and the 30 suites. When you’re ready to venture out, the concierge can arrange Maharaja-worthy experiences, including private dinners in the City Palace.
