The Vein of The Coast
State Highway 35 is the vein of the far East Coast of New Zealand, linking a collection of towns that have risen and fallen with the ebb and flow of resources, people and politics. Beyond the rumbling logging trucks and idling animals there isn’t a lot of traffic. You get the feeling that’s the way the locals - and the horses - like it.
