Aloft has opened its newest resort concept in Miami. The Aloft Hotel South Beach opened in May 2015 at the site of the foundation of the historic Ankara Motel. Aloft has chosen to keep the original signage, brick wall and pool deck to maintain the historical grandeur of the South Beach staple. The new property combines Miami’s history with chic design. Highlights include a custom $100,000 chandelier by ADD inc and rotating art created by local artists from the city’s popular Wynwood art district. The backyard of the location includes three relaxing stations, including a ground floor pool deck called Splash. Re:mix℠ lounge – home to the property’s live music series and creative craft cocktails – is a hub for guests and locals to socialize over drinks or a game of pool. Another highlight is The Continental, Stephen Starr’s latest Mid-Century designed restaurant.
