Fairbanks is a key jumping-off point for that bucket-list trip to the Arctic Circle. Flightseeing planes land to allow visitors to walk on the arctic tundra, and some tours offer 2.5-hour visits to a rural community. Flights can also pass over the Gates of the Arctic National Park, Brooks Range, the Yukon River and the TransAlaska Pipeline. Participants receive an Arctic Circle certificate after the tour. Longer Arctic Circle driving tours are also available.
