The Southeast Alaska Discovery Center is the perfect spot to get acquainted with the culture, history and attractions of the Ketchikan area. Upon walking through the door, you’ll be greeted by a trio of totem poles, one from each of the region’s three native peoples—Haida, Tlingit and Tsimshian—and you’ll also find exhibits showcasing native cultures and traditions. The exhibits also include interactive displays about local industries like mining and fishing, and others focused on the surrounding forests and wildlife.
