Tongass Historical Museum

629 Dock St, Ketchikan, AK 99901, USA

The Tongass Historical Museum is a small city-run museum where visitors can peruse displays highlighting the town’s history and the art and culture of the native people from the area. Just outside the museum, a large totem pole called Raven Stealing the Sun is a beautiful example of Native Alaskan art, while the items on display inside include historical photos of Ketchikan, artifacts from both natives and settlers and even the skull of a notoriously large bear named Old Groaner.
