The Permanent Exhibition of Religious Art

Ul. Šimuna Kožičića Benje, 23000, Zadar, Croatia

One of the most popular stops in Zadar is commonly referred to as the Gold and Silver of Zadar exhibit, though its formal name is the Permanent Exhibition of Religious Art. You’ll find this remarkable collection housed in the Benedictine convent of St. Mary. On display are bright, shiny and exquisitely wrought objects created in Croatia from the 8th to the 18th centuries. Weird but wonderful are the reliquaries designed to house the holy relics and remains of saints. Give yourself time to soak in the monastic aura that pervades the building—an oasis of calm in Zadar.
