Some tourists may discount these towers built in 1910 and 1916 as too new to be worth visiting, but that would be a mistake, as they have architectural styles that are unique to Qatar and are two of the best preserved 18th and 19th century buildings in the country. The two towers, a mosque and a religious school were recently restored and stand in the middle of a manicured garden of plants indigenous to Qatar. Visitors can enter the building 24-hours a day. To get there, take the Shamal Highway, drive north and make a U-turn at the first sign to Umm Slal Mohammed.
