The wind that blows off the North Sea has long made life a challenge for the hardy residents of this part of Denmark, but now it is being put to good use. Towering over the sea near the western end of the Limfjord are the huge turbines of a vast wind farm. These soaring structures which reach heights of around 80 meters (262 feet) are an impressive and oddly elegant addition to the seascape here. Denmark has the distinction of being the country to produce the greatest portion of its power from wind, at an estimated 42 percent in 2014.
