The tides of the Bay of Fundy are legendary, with the highest tides in the world, measuring some 47 feet. The best place to see this unique phenomenon is at the Hopewell Rocks, roughly an hour from Moncton on New Brunswick’s south coast. Here you can walk on the ocean floor around the famous “Flowerpot Rocks” which rise from 40 to 70 feet above the ocean at low tide. Just be sure to get back up to the viewing deck before high tide comes in and turns the Rocks into islands again. Make sure to check the tidal time tables as you plan your visit so that you can make sure to see the Rocks at both low and high tides.
