Nicaraguan rum may not be as well known to most Americans as Puerto Rican and Dominican brands, but that’s likely to change as more visitors sample Flor de Caña. You can do so at the rum manufacturer’s distillery in Chichigalpa, about 45 minutes from the port of Corinto. Guided tours include information about the rum-making process, a walk through the on-site museum and a sampling of an 18-year-old rum.
