Hypnotized by the swirling sands at Whitehaven Beach

After a 15 minute ‘bushwalk’ though the Queensland rainforest, we got rewarded with one of the most-photographed views in Australia, Whitehaven Beach. Located on Whitsunday Island, a 40 minute boat ride from Airlie Beach, it is definitely worth the trip. After snapping dozens of pictures, we walked down to the inlet itself and slashed around in the tropical water watching stingrays and baitfish in the shallows. Camping is available on Whitehaven beach for $6/day.
