While Bangkok increasingly flexes its muscles as a fine dining force, things are markedly more casual in the northern capital. That’s not to say that refinement is hard to come by though. One of the hottest restaurants in the city now is David’s Kitchen, where English restaurateur David Gordon runs one of the tightest ships in Thailand. With Thai talent Chef O calling the shots in the kitchen, the food here is an intriguing fusion of eastern influences and French and Italian fine dining tropes. The results are often sublime. Chef O is particularly strong on beef dishes, such as a bourguignon which is braised slowly over a period of 48 hours.
