Chugach National Forest

29847 Seward Hwy, Seward, AK 99664, USA

Just outside Anchorage, the 5.4-million-acre Chugach National Forest is set in the mountains of the Kenai Peninsula and covers more land than some states. Because of its breadth and size, the federal park system has divided it into three main areas: the Glacier Ranger District around Prince William Sound’s 5,600 kilometers of coastline; Cordova, a commercial fishing community known for the Copper River’s wild salmon; and the western Seward Ranger District.
